How can I remove blue wavy lines on my PC screen ?

Recently I chat with my uncle on Skype, when suddenly my PC freezes and it restarted by itself. Then, after the BIOS screen appears, I pressed the F8 button to enter in Safe Mode screen, then, some nasty blue lines appears vertically on my screen... I went in Safe Mode, and on my screen appeared a lot of blue wavy lines across the entire screen... now I can erase them with my mouse like in paint. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with all updates installed.. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall GPU driver, but no luck..

PC Specs: ASUS P5LD2-X/1333 MOBO
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0GHZ
Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX 512MB DDR3
4096 MB RAM DDR2 @ 667MHz Corsair XMS2

PLEASE HELP ME... And sorry for my bad english... Thanks for your time ! Regards !

It's interesting that the lines are erased when the mouse is moved. That suggests that the video card isn't properly initialized.

Click Start, type MSConfig in the search box, and click MSConfig. Type the password or confirm if prompted. Click the Boot tab. Select Base Video, then click OK. Restart the computer normally.

The Base Video option causes Windows to use the compatible standard VGA driver in place of the NVidia drivers. This causes the resolution to be relatively low, so don't be alarmed when everything is displayed larger than usual.

If the display otherwise appears normal, the problem is likely caused by the drivers. Start MSConfig as before, unselect Base Video and click OK. Don't restart the computer when prompted.

Uninstall the NVidia display driver in Add/Remove Programs, then restart the computer

Visit the following page to obtain the latest driver package for your video card, then run the program to install.

If the symptoms persist, try reseating the card in its slot. Don't remove the card from the slot, however, but back it out about 1/4 inch (6mm), then reinsert.
